Achievements:

Born in Flint, Michigan, in 1957, Jay Springsteen has enjoyed a long and successful career in dirt track racing and is still one of the most popular riders riding today. He turned pro in 1973 and won his first national in 1975 when he finished third in the nation and was named AMA Rookie of the Year. In 1976, he won seven nationals to earn the Grand National Championship, then repeated again in 1977 and 1978, winning six nationals in each of those seasons. He has been Grand National runner-up in 1979 and 1982 and has won 43 national championships. In addition to his three Grand National Championships, Springsteen finished second in the Harley-Davidson Sportster Performance Series in 1993, 1994 and 1995.
