Scott Parker Scott Parker

Dirt track racer.
Record holder.

Scott Parker is arguably the greatest dirt track racer of all time, having broken an all-time win record in 1992 that had been held by Joe Petrali for 55 years. Yet Parker went on to nearly double Petrali's record, winning 94 national championship races (including the Sacramento Mile 13 times and the Springfield Mile 14 times) and the AMA Grand National Championship 9 times over an 11-year period. Parker was born in Flint, Michigan, in 1961. He began his professional racing career in 1979, winning two championships to become the youngest rider ever to win an AMA national, and earning the title of Rookie of the Year in the process. Parker retired from professional racing after the 2000 season.
